Netflix has ordered a children's series inspired by the music of Motown, with Smokey Robinson supervising in the executive producer seat. In an imaginary city, based on Detroit, the music heritage of Motown will be integrated into the show about an eight-year-old boy discovering his artistic talents.

Contemporary artists will perform 52 classic tracks from the Motown catalogue by artists like Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Jackson 5, The Supremes, The Temptations, Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder. So far, there's no release date announced.
