The Simpsons is one of the longest-running TV series in history, and many of us can't even remember of a time it didn't exist. One of the people who has been working in the series virtually since its inception is composer Alf Clausen, who is responsible for some of the show's most memorable songs.

Unfortunately, and according to the Variety, Clausen has just been fired from the show, his last score having been season 28's finale. No further comments have been made from his side regarding the circumstances of what definitely marks the end of an era. All we have his confirmation of the news:
