13 Reasons Why proved to be a potent examination of teen angst, depression, rape and suicide when it originally hit Netflix last year. The material was so powerful for so many touched by the insidious issues it covers that therapy dogs were often kept on-set for the players to use when scenes got exceptionally traumatic. This ultimately led Netflix to add a few disclaimers to some of the Season 2 episodes.

13 Reasons Why's Season 2 premiere date has been announced as May 18 by the tweet and video below:

We also learn that Season 2 will be focusing on sexual assault with Hannah's (Katherine Langford) parents only starting to recover after her suicide and filing a law suit against Liberty High School. Netflix adds the caveat, "A series of ominous Polaroids lead Clay (Dylan Minnette) and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up."

No doubt, this season will likely be just as potent as Season 1.
