It’s been a rather long time since Jennifer Garner has tackled a bad-ass action role. Really the only ones which have been in her repertoire are 2005's Elektra (where she played the titular character) and her roles in J.J. AbramsAlias.

Garner is getting her inner action-star back with Pierre Morel’s (the director of the original Taken movie) Peppermint. Garner plays a young mother who "finds herself with nothing to lose, and is going to take from her rivals the very thing they stole from her."

Peppermint was written by Chad St. John (London has Fallen) and also stars Richard Cabral and John Ortiz. It hits theaters September 7.
