Steve Carell and The Office creator Greg Daniels are working on a workplace comedy for Netflix that is based around Donald Trump's idea for a Space Force as the sixth branch of the United States military.

Reportedly when Netflix heard Carell was eager to return to a starring role on TV, they pulled out all the stops to get him (The Office is still a hugely popular show on the platform). The TV giant offered Carell $1 million per episode for Space Force, making him one of the highest paid actors in TV.

With the confusion the Trump administration likes to sew on seemingly everything, the idea for a Space Force seems like fertile territory for a comedy. As the video below says, "The goal of the new branch is to 'defend satellites from attack' and 'perform other space-related tasks.' Or something. This is the story of the men and women who have to figure it out."

Check out the video announcement below and stay tuned for more on Space Force as we hear it.
