Two years ago, the music video for 'Bad Motherfucker' by Biting Elbows and director Ilya Naishuller began to make its way around the internet not noticeably for the song, rather, the video itself. Shot entirely from the first-person perspective, Naishuller's video put the viewer in complete perspective control of the ultimately high-intensity project, which captured a litany of imagination of promise. After growing legs, that initial work eventually found Naishuller behind the camera again for another first-person action project with the new feature-length film Hardcore.

Debuting this week at the Toronto International Film Festival, Hardcore puts the viewer in the perspective of a cyborg (android?), using custom head cameras. The central character's wife is missing, but there is also a bigger role at play through the mega-testosterone laden adventure, which is as much film as it is addictive video game. The film co-stars executive producer Sharlto Copley (District 9, Elysium) as your primary ally Jimmy, who seems more energetic than humanly possible in the role.
