Early next year, China, home to the biggest Warcraft fanbase on Earth for some reason, will release its largest produced film to date from director Zhang Yimou (Hero, House Of Flying Daggers), The Great Wall.

Although the film is categorized as a fantasy period piece, the main star of the project is none other than Matt Damon, for some particular reason. Alongside the Bourne series star, the film also features an eclectic mash of actors with Pedro Pascal, Jing Tian, Willem Dafoe, Andy Lau and pop star Luhan.

On the film, Zhang Yimou remarks, "At its core, it is a period piece and an action film. The fantasy element does play a major role because of the monsters. But, what makes our film unique is that these are ancient Chinese monsters. Even though it's a fantasy movie, we filmed it in a very realistic way."

The Great Wall hits theaters February 2017.
