Justice League filmmaker Zack Snyder has returned after a sabbatical following that movie where he was recovering from a family tragedy.

His new project is a zombie horror thriller called Army of the Dead for Netflix. Snyder’s freshly rebranded production company – Stone Quarry – will produce with Snyder and his wife Deborah helming the project.

Snyder came up with the story, and scribe Joby Harold penned the project set in Las Vegas during a zombie apocalypse. Army of the Dead has been at Warner Bros. since 2007, with sources telling The Hollywood Reporter that its budget at Netflix now is close to $90 million.

"When the movie gets super big, you get pushed away from the camera," Snyder tells THR. "And in the last few years, I've had a reconnection with photography. This movie will be a chance to get the camera in hand."
