Over the years, many supermodels who dipped their creative toes into the world of fashion design; Kate Moss for Topshop, and more recently, Rosie Huntington-Whitely for Marks & Spencer, and now Manchester born model-turned-actress, Agyness Deyn for Doc Martens.

Agyness Deyn has been wearing Doc Martens since before her modelling career began, buying her first pair whilst she was at school. She has been asked to be the face of fashion lines before, but this project was something she really fell in love with. Her personal style captures what the collection is all about, and she oozes the grunge look to a T.

The 90s are the fashion decade that has inspired Agyness Deyn’s first collection for Doc Martens. It was a decade for cool couples such as Johnny Depp and Kate Moss or Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. Agy claimed it was also inspired by “all those girls who had hot boyfriends in the 90s”, such a great sentiment. The 90s was also the decade of grunge, despite the fashionable film Clueless which has also inspired this 29 piece collection.

The collection itself would have been perfect for the young Winona Ryder or Courtney Love with the mix of grungy plaid jumpsuits, floral dresses, and short crop tops that were making the rounds during the 90s. Oh wait, that sounds familiar...

Bomber jackets and plaid shirts are also a feature of the collection, including a bright pink one with white daisies for £180. The bags are the same style of a heart shaped clutch with a strap, coming in four different colours: black, maroon, lilac, and bright green. As for the boots themselves, there are three different styles to choose from: from the ankle boot to the thigh-high number which is one of Agyness’ favourites.

Agyness Deyn for Dr Martens is out now. Prices from £30-£275 for clothing and accessories, and £120-£250 for footwear at drmartens.com.
