From a modest upbringing in Ramsbottom, Manchester, Henry Holland, designs clothes that could never be described as "modest". The 2013 House of Holland Resort collection is no different, drawing on the 28 year old's vibrant and eclectic ideas that transpose successfully into his creations. For this presentation, it is clear that Holland has strayed from his usually British-focused designs, towards an American-inspired theme.

With shapes and designs reminiscent of typical 1970s high school cheerleaders, the collection exhibits a heady mix of thick, hypnotising stripes, fun, funky brights and pom pom-esque fringing. No American-inspired collection would be complete without the inclusion of pleats, a cobalt blue dress features in the collection with pleats that reveal slices of white, breaking up the block use of colour in a minimalist way with a House of Holland slant. A personal favourite is the chunky varsity knitted sweater with a large "H" embroided on the front- a classic transitional piece.

The collection is adventurous, which is unsurprising considering the designer, yet maintains its wearability; Holland has triumphed with his second resort collection.
