The flatform first appeared on the Spring/Summer catwalks last year: Prada designed the iconic flatform brogue that was coveted by the fashion socialites, whilst Chanel, Vivienne Westwood and Derek Lam gave a nod to the trend with sandals and clog designs.

A year later and the flatform is here to stay with no shoe escaping the flatform makeover. Not quite platform or heel, the flatform gives you height, are a comfier alternative to heels and immediately upgrade your outfit to looking on trend. Here is a guide to find the best flatform on the high-street:

Trainers

Urban Outfitters, Office and Topshop all have the flatformed classic converse style which should be worn with frilly socks peeking out at the top or skinny high-waisted jeans.

Creepers

Ugly yet delightful, the creeper was a grower for many. With a range in height, you can choose to stand out from the crowd with a chunky flatform or just get the usual 1 inch flatform. Wear with anything, to grunge up a pretty dress or add different proportions to skinny legs. Get the classic design from Underground shoes or see varied styles at Office and Asos.

Evening flatforms

Head to Urban Outfitters or H&M for the chic flatform. The ballet style at H&M is chunky, black and suede that give any outfit an edge. Urban Outfitters showcase this style in a range of colour, combining two trends for the summer.

Sandals

Go for a Japanese geisha style flatform for the summer at Asos or get a subtle nod to the trend with a clog/flatform hybrid, even espadrills haven't escaped the trend. If you are a magpie at heart and are attracted to anything sparkly, Office have a range of subtle flatforms with glitter soles too.
