Whenever a press release mentions the word 'cinematic', eyes will roll. It's similar to the generic influence tags that are often attached to mailouts: "[Insert Band] are influenced by The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Radiohead, Coldplay but with their own spin." Thankfully Sub Pop, and every 'Introducing' blog out there got it right with Still Corners. From how they came about, all the way through to the sound they create, the band live up to the huge and panoramic sound you would expect from that claim.

We caught up with the band to talk about their latest release (Creatures of an Hour), how they came about, water effects and their love of cinema. The band also played a cover of Bruce Springsteen's 'I'm On Fire' for us.
