A few months back, The 405 caught up with Trevor Powers – otherwise known as Youth Lagoon - in London’s The Fox pub for one of our 405 Focus features. It turned out to be a pretty intimate session, with Trevor going into detail about his project's beginnings, the power of music and the imagery that not only surrounds his music, but the name of his project as well.

The Fox's crimson, paisley-esque wallpaper then became the perfect backdrop for Powers to perform a rendition of 'Seventeen', taken from his debut album The Year of Hibernation. "My mind is always just moving to much, so it was kind of like wrestling with that," says Powers about the track.“I wrote [this] song when I was struggling with all that."

You can watch the session/interview below, or via our TV Section. It's also available via our Youtube page (please watch in HD when possible).

The session/interview was recorded/edited by George and Louise Nindi. Header image by Colin Joyce (taken at Pitchfork Music Festival 2012).
