SEGA has confirmed the death of their console port of Aliens: Colonial Marines for the Wii U. A rep from SEGA told IGN:

"SEGA can confirm that the Wii U sku of Aliens: Colonial Marines is no longer in development”.

The console port was originally slated for release at the end of March this year, however a lack of details on the Wii U release of the game after its poor performance on rival consoles effectively sounded the port's death knell.

In a statement made to Game Informer, SEGA reaffirmed their dedication to developing for the Wii U:

"We are constantly looking at all areas of our business and in this case have made the decision to not continue development of the Wii U version [of Aliens: Colonial Marines]. Rest assured that we have some fantastic developments for Wii U in the pipeline which we will announce at a later date."

Looks like we'll never get to see if Randy Pitchford was right about the Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines being the "best-looking" version of the game.
