Yes, its official - Battlefield 4 is coming out and developers DICE are here to show off the game’s shiny new gameplay using the Frostbite 3 engine.

In what is somewhat of a revelation, DICE have decided to focus more on the single player content for Battlefield 4 for this reveal. Multiplayer hasn’t been mentioned, but is sure to be discussed as more details of the game are released. Personally, I'm happy to see the company focusing more on its single player content, as previous Battlefield instalments were somewhat lacking in this area.

The demo shown in the trailer was running on a PC, but the game itself will supposedly run at this quality on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Wii U fans suffered a blow, as DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson confirmed Battlefield 4 will not be coming to the Nintendo console, telling Videogamer:

"Sometimes, at least for us, it's focusing on what you do well and what you know well, and ensuring that you deliver something good than trying a bit too much, stretching yourself too thin and risking it. I’d rather play it safe, deliver something really good and then look at the future and what could possibly be done than trying a bit too hard and [failing]."

There have been some mentions of a pre-order bonus in the form of early beta access for the game. However, those who want to know when they can get their hands on this game will have to wait until Fall 2013 for a more confirmed date.
