CD Projekt RED, the developers behind The Witcher and The Witcher 2, are teasing the public with an all new trailer of their upcoming Sci-Fi cyberpunk RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.

According to the game’s website, the video shows the “Psycho Squad”, a special police force that specialises in fighting “psychos” – individuals that have overused implants and substances that to modify their bodies and abilities. Due to the overuse of these modifications, the psychos bodies start to reject their natural organic biological structure as well as other organic life forms around them. They become more machine than man (think, Snatcher, another fantastic cyberpunk game from Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima), and in turn they start killing other human beings.

Psychos are supposedly incredibly powerful and the police can sometimes become overwhelmed – when the situation becomes too difficult for regular law enforcement to handle, the MAC-TAC (Maximum Force Tactical Division) or “Psycho Squad” is called in to handle the situation.

Although the footage doesn’t reflect the game’s final gameplay, the development team at CD Projekt RED have expressed that the teaser trailer is a “benchmark” for what they are aiming for graphically with the final product.

The trailer also features the song “Bullets” by London based Electronic Prog Rockers “Archive”. Check it out below.

As for the release date, let’s hope we don’t have to wait until 2077
