The president of Nintendo’s operations in Japan, Satoru Iwata, has become the CEO for Nintendo’s American production and development. This won’t hinder any of his current duties, but the company has stated that this move will see Mr. Iwata operate from Redwood, Washington and will bolster the company’s current infrastructure:

"The move will support the company's unified global strategy, allow streamlined decision making and enhance Nintendo’s organizational agility in the current competitive environment. Reggie Fils-Aime will continue in his role as president and COO of NOA, reporting to Iwata."

Nintendo has been known for its fractured publishing of some third party titles between its Japan/American/European operations, however with Satoru Iwata at the helm of both Japan and America, hopefully we will see more titles being published and localised.

If anything, at least Iwata and Reggie won’t have to call each other anymore via the Wii U’s chat function!
