Discovering a new band playing at a support slot can often be a misleading adventure as once awake and without the beer-induced euphoria – you find they sound nowhere as good as you remember. Thankfully, this feeling cannot be applied to Tangerines, whom I was lucky to catch supporting The Parrots last month.

Whilst the London-based quartet have been playing strings of support slots over the last year, they are finally getting the recognition they deserve as they slowly but surely make their way up the bill. And it's no wonder as they come armed with an infectious, endearingly simplistic, and downright rambunctious back catalogue - all doused with a healthy dollop of overdrive. Bang on trend - their sun-tinged surfpop couldn't have come at a better time so expect to see their names in bright lights all around the capital this summer and, if all goes well, much further afield.
