For our upcoming 405 documentary on the Icelandic Music scene we are looking for a visual effects artist to join our team with potential for further and ongoing work. Please note that this is an unpaid position.

For the Iceland documentary in specific we are looking for someone who can design animated titles for the film utilising the Icelandic alphabet in a sort of 'calligraphy-style'. Potential suitors please think of Sigur Ros' Heima for reference.

Someone who can also layer and animate still images, we're not sure what specifically this is called but we refer to them as 'animated photographs'! An example of what we're on about can be seen often in this trailer for the excellent documentary A Band Called Death.

It will also be necessary for this individual to be able create animated sequences such as bringing a map of Iceland to life, kind of like this but y'know less dorky... or more dorky! - depending your style.

Anybody wishing to apply must be self-motivated, proficient in relevant software, have their own sense of style and flair - we want you to get creative and have fun! We would be delighted to have you as part of the film team - whether you are an established animator with some spare time on their hands, an animation student looking to expand their portfolio or even a talented novice. We would love to hear from you.

Please email tim@thefourohfive.com to apply or for any questions that you may have.
