This was originally recommended to me by our sound engineer Joe and it's by far some of the best animation I've ever seen. It has a really unique character, every scene feels alive and it's a great story too.

2001: A Space Odyssey

I first saw this when I was a kid and have rewatched it tons of times since. It was this along with Iain M. Banks' Culture novels that first got me into good science fiction.

The Red Turtle

I watched this at one of HOME's cinemas in Manchester and was glad to see I wasn't the only one with tears in their eyes when the lights went up at the end. It's incredible how much can be said without a single bit of dialogue.

Lost In Translation

I've always been a big Bill Murray fan and this is definitely one of my favourites. It has a great soundtrack that perfectly reflects the emotions of the film - I especially love the Squarepusher track 'Tommib' and 'Alone in Kyoto' by Air.

The Royal Tenenbaums

It's tough to pick just one but I think this is my all-time favourite film.
