Producer Darren Cunningham aka Actress has announced that he'll be playing a one-off show at the Barbican next year. But it's not just any old one-off show: it's a performance alongside the London Contemporary Orchestra, taking in Cunningham's back catalogue and reinterpreting it for the orchestra.

The Barbican themselves, on the event page, call it "a heightened kind of chamber music," with Cunningham using the orchestra as "a new instrument, matching his electronic loops with precise manipulation of their acoustic instruments." Exciting stuff - we love the old-meets-new, analogue-meets-digital, manual-meets-automatic theme; who doesn't?

And what's more: there'll be new material from Actress, too.

Actress with the London Contemporary Orchestra takes place on 10th February 2016. Tickets are on sale for Barbican members from 10am on 10th December, and for everyone else from 10am on the 11th, on the Barbican website.
