'Million Years Ago' is a ballad taken from Adele's latest album 25. Whilst ostensibly a moody ballad based on familiar minor chord patterns, it seems that perhaps this isn't all there is to it.

Fans of late Kurdish singer Ahmet Kaya (pictured above) have noticed that there are some distinct similarities between Adele's 'Million Years Ago' and Kaya's 1985 song 'Acilara Tutunmak' ('Clinging To Pain').

Kaya was from Malatya, Turkey, but died in exile in Paris in 2000, following allegations of supporting Kurdish "separatist group" (politcal party) PKK. His widow Gülten Kaya has given Adele the benefit of the doubt, and has told reporters doesn't think she'd stoop so low as to steal others' music. But she added: "If she consciously did it then it would be theft."

A fan has mashed up the two songs below - have a listen and see what you think.
