In celebration of our 'Albums of the Year' list we decided to get in contact with all the artists on our top 30 for a short Q&A. We sent them all the same five questions, from what their favourite album of the year is, to what they'd change about their album.

Every day during the voting period we'll post a couple of these interviews so that you can get to know the artists a bit better.

Remember, you can vote on your favourite album of the year here.

How do you feel looking back on the album? Is there anything you'd change about it?

I feel good about it. It’s by far the most personal music I’ve ever made. I feel like it truly expressed a lot of things inside of me. And I enjoy listening to it as well. I definitely know that I haven't yet come full circle musically-speaking by any means, but I wouldn't change anything about the album.

Tell us something about the album, or the recording of the album, that isn't common knowledge!

Most of the negative reviews or comments regarding the album that I've seen have actually reinforced my faith in it because it's almost like the reviewer/commenter is criticizing certain flaws in my personality that I'm already acutely aware of. So it kinda makes me happy at how much of myself came out through the music.

What's your favourite album of 2011?

I did a really terrible job at keeping up with music in 2011. I feel a little guilty about it actually. Five favorites that I can think of off the top of my head are: 808s and Dark Grapes II - Main Attrakionz, Replica - Oneohtrix Point Never, Strange Mercy - St. Vincent, Just Once - How To Dress Well, Pleasure - Hudson Mohawke.

What's the best thing you've done this year, besides releasing the album?

I just started playing live shows with my friend Morgan who sings, and we've only played a few times so far, but it has been a really amazing and fulfilling experience. Also not going to college was pretty cool too.

What are your plans for 2012?

Touring. Moving out of my parents house into my own spot. Thinking about what I want to do next musically. Hopefully getting into producing for other people. Waiting for a restoration of order.
