In celebration of our 'Albums of the Year' list we decided to get in contact with all the artists on our top 30 for a short Q&A. We sent them all the same five questions, from what their favourite album of the year is, to what they'd change about their album.

Every day during the voting period we'll post a couple of these interviews so that you can get to know the artists a bit better.

Remember, you can vote on your favourite album of the year here.

Looking back on the album, how do you feel about it? Is there anything you'd change about it?

I'm very happy with it. Looking back I might have included the b-side on the album, but at the time I kind of felt that it ruined the tempo and feel on the album.

Tell us something about the album, or the recording of the album, that isn't common knowledge!

'Battle Hymn of the Fox Father' was not even a real song, just some chords, that we added drums to, then bas, then piano, then vocals and so on. Actually a lot of the music and arrangement happened kind of spontaneous, which made the whole process very fun to be involved in.

What's your favourite album of 2011?

I'm so terrible at listening to new music. Might actually be Smart Flesh by The Low Anthem.

What's the best thing you've done this year, besides releasing the album?

Going to Iceland with my family during summertime. Absolutely amazing.

What are your plans for 2012?

Gonna hang loads with my kids, and will start working on new albums for both Mimas and Dad Rocks!. Can't wait.
