Following her personal venture to London at age 17, self-produced singer-songwriter Anna Straker began to focus more on her own work. Previously, the little-known young upstart worked with the likes of Rudimental and John Newman, providing backing vocals. But after her personal journey, Straker's abilities began to soar, as evident with her previous single 'Late Night Swimming'.

After earning buzz with the single by the likes of Huw Stephens and Monki on Radio 1, Jamz Supernova on 1Xtra and Tom Robinson on 6 Music, Straker debuted her newest buzzy single 'How We Are'. On the effort, she writes: "I wrote this song about belonging to a system which encourages young people to conform to the rules & not have 'pie in the sky careers' (something my 6th form tutor accused me of when I left school to do music). I want to inspire my generation! I came up with that rotating chord progression when I first played a Jupiter 8 synth. When that offbeat dancehall vibe drops in the chorus it feels so good."
