Tech news site TechCrunch recently reported on Apple's plans to shut down the streaming music service Beats Music, started by Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, and acquired by the corporation in May for $3 billion.

Apple's PR representative Tom Neumayr said it's "not true", yet did not elaborate on the subject.

According to Re/code's sources Apple is not going to shut down the streaming service, however it may "modify it over time, and one of those changes could involve changing the Beats Music brand."

The Beats Music affair seems to be a matter of modification of the brand, rather than termination of the service.
