Last night, two members of Arcade Fire performed alongside the London Contemporary Orchestra. The performance for BBC Radio 3 was based on a human heartbeat and featured the band's guitarist Richard Reed Parry and violinist Sarah Neufeld. The overall tempo of the composition was set to the pace of the orchestra's pulse, and was partly based on Parry's own solo LP Music for Heart and Breath.

You can listen to the whole performance on the BBC iPlayer.

The band were recently in the headlines for making the short list for the Canada's Polaris Music Prize, alongside the likes of Tim Hecker and Drake. They'll probably win.
