Update: You can now listen to a 40-second clip:

Following their confirmation of a fourth album, Reflektor (should be out on October 29th through Mercury Records) Canadian indie band Arcade Fire has just shared a mysterious 15-second clip on Spotify.

The track's title, '9pm 9/9', suggests that a bigger sample is set to be unveiled next week - after all, this first micro-clip is little more than a warm synth atmosphere without vocals. A Spotify spokesperson has confirmed the track's authenticity after it was posted on Dutch music blog Kicking The Habit.

Early this year James Murphy has talked about the band's upcoming album (which he is helping to produce) as sounding "like Arcade Fire in the way that only Arcade Fire sound like Arcade Fire, you know? It's really fucking epic. Seriously. I mean, I feel at this point like I'm too close to it to really talk it up and do it justice, you know?"
