Ahead of Trump's inauguration tomorrow, we've all just been given a dose of power.

Last week, Arcade Fire's Jeremy Gara claimed a new album (their first since 2013's Reflektor) was on the way, and it seems as though he was telling the truth.

"All of [the songs] have been recorded. The album should come out this year. At this stage we are still mixing and trying to decide which songs will end up on the record, because we’ve recorded more than we need. But we’re almost finished. I don’t know when it’ll come out, I hope soon I know we're a popular band, but we always stick to the same rule; we record until we feel that the music is ready."

It might not be 100% finished yet, or it may well be in a factory ready for production, but what we do know is that the Mavis Staples-featured 'I Give You Power' is streaming on everyone's fourth favourite music platform right now.

The band shared the track via their Facebook page with the following note: "It's never been more important that we stick together and take care of each other. Love, Mavis Staples and Arcade Fire."

Thursdays are the new Fridays, etc.

Update: The proceeds from the track will be going to ACLU Worldwide, the American Civil Liberties Union, which means this could easily be a standalone single.
