Australian electronic band The Avalanches have been teasing their sophomore release since early 2007. Their fantastic debut, Since I Left You, dropped in 2000 and news has been scarce from the group.

In a music scoop, The Guardian's Nosheen Iqbal on Twitter, revealed news of a new Avalanches record. Details are few about the LP, tentatively set for a February 2014 release. Iqbal tells us the band has completed thirty new tracks in the studio and should be dropping a new single in September.

In a quote from the Avalanches, "…it's real, it exists, and you know we wouldn't be serving anything up unless it was gonna give you that same special feeling that since has. funnily enough its ended up sounding like the next logical step to since, we just had to go around in a big circle to get back to where we belong." Set anticipation levels on high alert.
