You may have thought that cult favourite post-punks Art Brut had gone the way of the dodo, with them having been uncharacteristically quiet for 7 years; but today they're back in a flurry to prove that there's life in the ol' gal yet. They've launched an assault on your attention via their new track 'Wham! Bam! Pow! Let's Rock Out!', which is out now.

Eddie Argos introduces 'Wham! Bam! Pow! Let's Rock Out!': "This is a song about making new friends, I hope it works out...Watch the fuck out! We're back and very rejuvenated. Art Brut are coming to your party whether you want us to or not. We did not want to go home yet there were still quite a few people we hadn't met. See you soon."

In less than 3 minutes, 'Wham! Bam! Pow! Let's Rock Out' re-states Art Brut's credentials as the most sneering party starters on the planet. It's frenetic and joyous, accelerating forward in a flurry of unkempt imagery; "beer bottle lids used as ash trays/ we'll make some enemies in the kitchen because we don't care whose booze we're drinking." Imbued by lazer-guided synths, the chorus is a torrential force of pure fun, and a sure-to-be chant along anthem at their forthcoming shows. As the song descends into the sweaty and drunken finale they manage to throw in a Lionel Richie reference, an angry-whispered break down and a frenetic, howling outro. Welcome back Art Brut.
