Wrexham-born, Margate-based atmospheric bedroom-pop producer Art School Girlfriend has released a new single called 'Come Back To Me'. It's Polly Mackey's first new music since the release of her EP Into The Blue Hour last September, and sees her continuing with subtle tones that evoke intimacy. That feeling is even more the case on 'Come Back To Me', which is explained by Mackey:

“The song is quite transparently about lust and being out of control of your own desire... It’s about wanting someone to come to you and how that yearning can be simultaneously enjoyable and torturous.”

With that in mind, and given the image seen above, it's easy to feel yourself in the room with Art School Girlfriend as she lies in deep contemplation and longing. Through 'Come Back To Me' she pairs soft synthesizers with unabashed intention to get down to business with the object of her fantasies, and the combination is heady. The song pushes forward with perfectly-pitched atmospherics, setting the scene of Mackey looking through the rain and mist from her bedroom window, yearning for her partner to return to her out of the grey.

Art School Girlfriend is currently on tour in America with The Japanese House, but she'll be back in the UK in April to play these dates:
