Hi I'm David. I am the frontman and main songwriter for Strangers. We are a dark synth pop group originally from Northampton. I started writing songs when I was about 8 as we had no television or radio at home it was what I did for enjoyment. I still have some of the early tapes somewhere, not sure they'll ever see the light of day though, as you can image me I've learnt a lot since then.

Listening to:

Purity ring, omd, Curxes and nine inch nails.

Consumer Detox by Mark Powley. It's pretty interesting, my dad leant me it, and it's written by a Christian who basically says we shape our lives by what we consume and how that probably isn't the best thing to do.

A film called Night Porter, and Touch.

Word Mole on my blackberry. Hours of fun on public transport.

I've recently been on the healthy diet vibe, so anything that tastes bland and doesn't fill you up. Including Ryvitas and tofu. Normally I'm a big food fan, so it's tough.

Make a list of your fav things about being on earth?

The morning coffee, lazy Sundays, finishing a new song, walking in forests, events that involve free alcohol and meeting interesting people, new discoveries, friends, performing, roadtrips...

What's in your head right now?

I'm thinking about what is in my head right now so whatever was in my head has just gone. Over thinking is what I'm doing right now.

What 5 things define you?

Synths, milky coffee, glasses, words, roll-ups.

What five things bother you?

Noisy neighbours, sleeping on the left side of the bed, not having a plectrum for my guitar, hanging washing out and England's sporting failures.

If you could teach any class what would it be?

How to lose friends and alienate people. No seriously, probably something to do with songwriting. Being a music teacher could be fun.

What did you dream of last night?

I dreamt that me and my old school friends ran a bar, weird, it was a cool bar though.

What is your favourite thing to eat?

A carvery.

Who are your favourite people?

My girlfriend, my parents and my drummer although I'll never tell him that to his face.

Describe your favourite outfit?

It will involve a fitted blazer, fitted black trousers, my yohji Yamamoto shirt and my brown shoes. I also like jewellery, I have a giant cross on a chain that I love.

What was your favourite thing to do when you were young?

Make tents in our bedroom and rehearse with my band in our attic. We used cake Tin lids for a drum kit.

What five things would you like to try in your lifetime?

Drive across America, headline Glastonbury, Live in Japan, fast for 40 days and write a song with Gary Barlow (that would be sick!)
