London-based singer-songwriter Steve Hughes, aka AUGUST today reveals his latest release ‘Torn’. It is a bombastic piece of electro-pop with Steve’s signature dark edge. It incorporates a gospel influence within its soaring choral hook and pairs this with theatrical, ambient artificial beats. His emotive delivery is notably moving, speaking of the track he summated, “Torn is the simple song of a soul trying to sing itself free.”

With each release so far, AUGUST has unveiled a gift for anthemic songwriting, in the shape of previous singles ‘Ghosts’, ‘Heal' and ‘1000 Suns’, which all received strong online attention, as well as radio support from BBC Introducing and BBC 6 MUSIC.

The inspiration behind the moniker came from an old song Hughes wrote, with the same name, and it was also the month he started working on this collection of songs. Hughes has supported the likes of Twenty One Pilots, Jack Garratt and Walk The Moon, and there will be more live shows coming in early 2018.
