Norwegian alt-pop artist extraordinaire AURORA starts 2019 with an offering of exquisite dark-pop ‘Animal’. Following the release of ‘Infections of a Different Kind - Step 1’ in late 2018, fans have not been left waiting long for new music as AURORA impresses with yet more dance floor whimsy in this new cut. She pairs lyrical content of dramatic hunts, pushing lovers from rooftops and dismembering body parts with dynamic, urging dance-floor synths and brooding percussive beats.

Produced by the impeccable MyRiot, they help AURORA once again combine the icy climes of a Bergen woodland with the fervour of an Oslo club. She expertly brings together imagery of wide open spaces and forest dwelling beasts with the animalistic intensities of human sexuality and interactions.

Speaking of the track, she commented: “I spend a lot of time thinking about humans. And I wanted to make a song wrapped in a blanket of obliviousness whilst speaking the wonderful and horrible truth that I see in us. We are always thriving for something. If it’s love, money, sex, success, power or just a bigger piece of a delicious chocolate cake. It’s very interesting. Its grotesque. It’s beautiful. “We are always hunting for something. We are animals hunting for animals.”
