London quintet Average Sex have been quiet since last year, but come roaring back to life this week with the revelation of a UK tour - which they're celebrating by sharing a new single called 'Erotomania'. It is the title track of a new EP, produced by Tim Burgess, which will see release on September 5th.

Laetitia Bocquet explains that "’Erotomania’ is a form of paranoid delusion in which a person believes that another person is in love with them, despite contrary evidence. The theme was strongly inspired by Garbage’s song #1 Crush. It is an LGBTQ+ song about the pains of love."

Average Sex's song is jaunty, filled with helium-tinged guitar melodies and playful bass - a brilliant portrayal of the rosy-eyed view of someone suffering from the titular delusion. Bocquet plays the part of a smitten kitten perfectly, sounding content when she's knocked back, seeming amused when the object of her affection screams at her, and sounding practically joyous at the thought of being punched in the face. This humorous and rambunctious track has arrived at the perfect time of summer, enjoy it below.

Average Sex's Erotomania EP is out September 5th on Tim Burgess' O Genesis Recordings. The dates of their tour are:

9th August – Liverpool, Phase One
10th August – Glasgow, Broadlands
11th August – Preston, The Ferret
12th August – Manchester, The Castle Hotel
13th August – Leeds, Lending Room
