Bad News Club is a songwriter from Haslemere, whose scant exposure has managed to capture the ears of paradYse Records (Loyle Carner, Blaenavon, Marika Hackman, Spring King), who are set to release his debut single 'The Painter'.

On listening to 'The Painter' it's easy to understand why he has been snapped up; his delicate howl is instantly magnetic, while his lyricism is both descriptive and cutting, illuminating scenes with seeming ease. Even more incredible is the fact that 'The Painter' was recorded first take straight onto his phone. Bad News Club describes the process:

"At the end of last year I had a conversation with someone I hold very dear in my life. I came home straight after, wrote The Painter and recorded it live in my room onto my phone - and it’s that very first take that you’re hearing."
