Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina, and Yekaterina Samutsevich, a.k.a. Russian riot-grrrl band Pussy Riot, have been the subject of a recent BBC documentary called Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer, which will premiere on BBC Four next week.

However, the 90-minute full feature has been made available on BBC iPlayer beforehand, allowing users from all over the country to get an inside look on the three girls' arrest, trials and appeals. Sentenced to two years in jail last year after being found guilty of "hooliganism motivated by religious hatred" following a performance at Cathedral of Christ the Saviour during which the trio requested the Virgin Mary to "drive Putin from power," Pussy Riot have made numerous appeals and unleashed a wave of protest from artists all over the world.

The documentary is part of BBC's Storyville documentary series, which received the special jury prize winner at this year's Sundance Film Festival. [via Best Fit.]
