At the end of last week, it was announced that Beak> (another band that Portishead constant Geoff Barrow is in) would be dropping a split EP with themselves in the form of "alter ego"

Now they've dropped a video for 'When We Fall' ahead of its July release. It's been co-directed Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Ex Machina) and Rob Hardy (director of photography, Ex Machina), and features Sonoya Mizuno, who plays Kyoko in Ex Machina. As you may well know, Geoff Barrow scored Ex Machina alongside Ben Salisbury.

Explaining the ideas behind the video, Garland said:

"Beak> has a sound with a specific kind of directness. It's not lo-fi; it's just not over-thought. If the band records something which feels too comfortable with itself, they reject it. Rob Hardy, Sonoya Mizuno, Erline O'Donovan and I tried to make the video for "When We Fall" on their aesthetic terms: shot one afternoon on an iPhone, held up to the viewfinder of an old Nikon SLR, then cut as instinctively as possible."

The result? A gorgeous selection of lusciously decayed-looking shots. Watch the video below.
