The surviving Beastie Boys, Mike D and Ad-Rock, have signed a deal with Spiefel & Grau, part of the Random House Publishing Group, to put out a memoir. The as yet untitled book, which will come out some time in 2015, is said to share similarities with Grand Royal, the acclaimed magazine the Beastie Boys put out in the 90s.

Fans have been promised not to expect the standard, stale autobiography style, with Julie Grau from Spiegel & Grau saying that the Beastie Boys are "interested in challenging the form and making the book a multidimensional experience. There is a kaleidoscopic frame of reference, and it asks a reader to keep up."

We're not really sure what it means, but it sounds awesome. Spiefel & Grau also put out the revered Jay-Z autobiography Decoded back in 2010, so they know what they're doing when it comes to hip-hop megastar books.
