While the world of music has spent the past few days mourning the death of Beastie Boys member Adam 'MCA' Yauch it has emerged today that the group have had a lawsuit filed against them by label Tuf America for copyright infringement. Tuf America are accusing Beastie Boys of illegally sampling to of Trouble Funk’s tracks 'Drop The Bomb' and 'Say What'. The label suggest that the first sample was used on not one but three tracks including 'Hold It Now Hit It', 'The New Style' and 'Car Thief' while the second was used on their classic song 'Shadrach'.

The papers where filed the day before Yauch passed away so the move by Tuf America was just a case of unfortunate timing rather than anything malicious.
