To be a fan of dreamy, yet biting shoegaze groups in 2016 is to be living in paradise. Philadelphia's NOTHING has already released one of the year's strongest albums in Tired Of Tomorrow. Now, a Belgian five-piece called NEWMOON are hoping to cut in on the action with a stunner of their own.

Simply titled SPACE and slated for release on October 14 via PIAS, the Antwerp and Ghent-based act NEWMOON are looking to find a residence within this burgeoning niche. Composed of vocalist/guitar Bert Cannaerts, guitarist/backing vocalist Giel Torfs, guitarist Philippe Corthout, bassist Robby Geybels and drummer Stef Gouwkens, most of the band members (excluding only Geybels) were members of the celebrated hardcore punk group Midnight Souls, which disbanded in 2013.

Now, having released an EP via Touché Amoré's label Secret Voice/Dishwish Inc. and having toured with bands such as NOTHING, the quintet are hoping to push itself into a new domain of critical acclaim.

Lead single 'Head Of Stone' showcases the band's powerful aural assault, which muscles its way into one's chest before holding the listener tight. There is a powerful beauty to the track and is merely a preview of what to expect come October 14.
