While venues are closing down in London, Berlin looks a little different. A Berlin fiscal court has ruled that the famous Berghain nightclub is now a "high culture" venue that will no longer just be for entertainment events and it will now occupy the same tax bracket as concert halls, museums and theatres.

Berghain will occupy a tax bracket that sees seven percent on earnings rather than a 19 percent tax. One of their reclassification arguments included that "concertgoers may achieve a similar intoxicating effect" from classical performances and DJ sets, and that DJs are ultimately similar to conductors.
