Even though the awards themselves mean next to nothing, the MTV Video Music Awards are always entertaining - even if just for a bit. They've just revealed this year's nominations, and topping the list is none other than Beyoncé with eight nominations for three different videos ('Drunk In Love', 'Partition', 'Pretty Hurts). Iggy Azalea and Eminem also have a few nominations to their name, as well as Kanye West, Arcade Fire, and Drake. Sia's wildly popular video for 'Chandelier' has grabbed a few noms as well, including Video of the Year.

For some reason Lorde's 'Royals' is up for Best Rock Video and "MTV Clubland" is a thing that exists, but it's gotten Disclosure a nomination for 'Grab Her!' which is fine by me. Sam Smith is up for an award for the heart-wrenching 'Stay With Me' video. You can take a look at all of the nominees over at the VMAs website.
