Back in February it was reported that Chris Martin would be curating the Global Citizen Festival for the next 15 years; now, his choices for the festival's headliners at the 2015 iteration, taking place 26th September, have been revealed.

The festival is an offshoot of Global Citizen, a UN-backed campaign dedicated to ending "extreme poverty" by 2030.

Joining Coldplay will be Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé and Pearl Jam. "We love the Global Citizen movement and we love opening for Beyoncé so this ticks both boxes," says Chris Martin.

Free tickets are available from the festival site, where you can also apply to take part in an "Action Journey", which involves making phone calls, volunteering, or taking part in some other way in order to encourage the U.S. State Department to allocate half of its foreign aid budget to the world's poorest nations.

Services covering the event include MSNBC, BBC Worldwide, NBC as well as iHeartRadio, YouTube and, of course, Tidal.
