Genre-bending is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. You can dabble and experiment with lots of different sounds, sure, but to do it successfully can be a real challenge. Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter BISHOP is one who faced that challenge successfully with last year's 'Wild Horses' and now with 'River' - a track which crosses the boundaries of pop, folk and rock without sounding rigid.

This might sound rather sombre but the chorus sounds like something you might hear a chain gang singing in the sweltering heat; it's raw, aggressive, expressive and filled to the brim with emotion and sincerity. Look out for BISHOP's EP, which is due for release later this year.
