Update: Everything is cool. Go back to bed:

Patrick Carney of Black Keys has alleged that Jack White tried to start a fight with him at a New York bar last night. White's hatred of the Black Keys is long documented – he didn't even want his kids in the same class as Dan Auerback's kids, so deep is that hatred. But apparently all that came to a head yesterday when White approached Carney in a bar, the latter later calling him on Twitter a "40 year old bully" in his description of the event, as follows (Jack White denies this, as he said in a statement below these tweets):

"Nobody tried to fight you, Patrick. Nobody touched you or ‘bullied’ you," said Jack White in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. "You were asked a question you couldn’t answer so you walked away. So quit whining to the Internet and speak face to face like a human being. End of story."

What that "question" was, nobody knows. It's weird that Jack White isn't saying what it was. Makes me think it must have been a baited question, aggressive, you know. Approaching somebody like this, i.e. confrontational, doesn't get the best reactions out of people: some want to fight you, others would prefer to walk away. And just because someone talks on the internet doesn't mean they're not a human being. Anyway, that's an opinion – one of many.
