The new Blood Orange album is more than three-quarters ready and it's "a little dark." Over the weekend, Dev Hynes sat down for a live conversation at The New Yorker Festival, where he discussed the pending follow-up to last year's Freetown Sound and what to expect from it.

"A lot of the new songs on the new album deal with growing up and childhood in England," he said. "Looking at the country that made me." He went on to share that he lived in Essex with his two immigrant parents, where the British National Party "aka the racist party - 'keep Britain white' was one of their campaigns - were constantly elected in power."
