Record Store Day is fast approaching (it's this Saturday), and some of the goodness that is due to come from it is already finding its way out into the public for devouring. We have the pleasure of bringing you one of the tracks from the collaborative single from Blue House and Clémentine March (bassist of Snapped Ankles). When March was offered the opportunity to record in the legendary Abbey Road Studios, she called up Blue House to take the opportunity with her. They each had a go at singing songs penned by the other, and the resulting single is a brief but bountiful slice of impending summer.

They have already released the first track from of the collaborative single, ‘A Ticket For The London Necropolis Railway', which is delightfully lighthearted despite its heavy subject. Today we reveal the fantastic flip side, 'Summer Clouds', a song penned by March in collaboration with a poet, as she explains:

"I composed Summer Clouds in collaboration with the Argentinian poet Javier Leibiusky. I lived in South America (São Paulo and Buenos Aires), and Summer Clouds was much influenced by Chico Buarque's melodic and harmonic writing, while reminiscing about my teenage love for the Beatles. Ursula Russell is the lead singer, and the song is a highlight to play on stage.”

'Summer Clouds' starts at the lightness of the flip side and takes it up to even more blissful and sun-drenched regions. Reminiscent of Stereolab in its playfulness and redolent of classic pop rock from the Summer Of Love, 'Summer Clouds' could be the track that just finally brings spring into the full bloom that it's been threatening for a little while now.

The physical edition of the 7" single is limited to merely 20 copies, so you'll have to keep your eyes out for that. You can pre-order the digital single now from here and get a download of ‘A Ticket For The London Necropolis Railway' straight away, with 'Summer Clouds' to follow on Saturday.
