Blur have been added to this year's Isle of Wight Festival, with the band set to headline the Saturday night.

"I'm a huge fan of Blur and have always wanted to bring them to the Isle of Wight Festival so I'm really pleased we've finally done it," says Isle of Wight Festival promoter John Giddings. "I know they're going to blow the crowd away on the Saturday night - see you down the front!"

Graham Coxon confessed the band is "excited to play the new record live and we'll have some surprises in store for the fans too," while bassist Alex James says they are "really looking forward to this one" because they have never played Isle of Wight before.

Blur join the previously confirmed Fleetwood Mac, Pharrell Williams, The Black Keys, The Prodigy, Jessie Ware, Billy Idol, and many more at the 14th edition of the event, which takes place June 11th-14th.

The band's forthcoming album, The Magic Whip, is out on April 27th via Parlophone.
